Hello, I frequently have the issue that suddenly the ingame sound is not audible anymore and then the game crashes to the desktop without any error message displayed. Attached the trace file and dxdiag.txt. Would be great if someone has an idea.
Some others have reported the same issue, at least for them, it appeared to be related to official cars but cars that HAD NOT yet had the full sound package installed. Speaking of that, the only cars that have been updated (other than newly released cars like the BTCC) are the cars intended for the Virtual le Mans series. I understand those need to be updated, but there has been a rather long delay for any other cars. Not GT3, not the Tatuu, nothing but the eSport cars. S397 needs to get on this.
That was my first thought, but @Max Melamed noted it happened to him with a supposedly updated BMW M8.
Well the M8 is definitely listed as updated, but I was wondering about your comment regarding non-updated cars and whether you meant game crashing was happening with them. It's not something I think I've seen.
The first report in another thread was with the Caddy DPi, which I am fairly certain has not gotten the sound updates. Also this trace txt mentions a GTE NSX, I'm assuming one of the Japanese SuperGT cars, but it is unfamiliar to me. So..combined with a report on RD also about legacy sound issues, I ASSUMED that was the culprit. The M8 crash has squished that.
Weren't there People reporting Crashes, with setting the "Number of Effects" in the Sound Settings to max (255)? @Max Melamed Maybe you try out a Setting of 32, just to check if it still crashes.
