Multiclass racing especially overtaking is broken

    In offline racing when the faster cars get behind slower cars on corners they quickly change their racing line & spin. They overtake on straights fine but having issues trying to overtake on corners. The below video is Spa but it occurs at most tracks.

    The issues occur with original S397 content ie LMP2 & GTE or modded versions. I've tried various aggression values. Are S397 aware of this issue?

    Is it AI logic in the code of the game?
    Is it the AI performance usage values in the player.json?

    @Christopher Elliott & @Coutie. Has the team at S397 ever encountered the above? It makes multiclass racing frustrating. Is it AI setup related? Bug? AI logic? Thanks.

    Any chance of the devs even replying to this report? If you don't know what the issue is or don't know how to fix it then just say so I'm not wasting my time. Thank you.

    The devs rarely post on this forum, so you never know if something is known or acknowledged or even read.

    Tried posting in support on Discord & still nothing. To be honest over the last few days I've given up with Rf2. The devs don't know how to fix the game. It's obvious.

    Unfortunately RF2 has many known AI issues, the worst being cars not passing on the pit in lap. In multi-class racing on a large track like Lemans, a LMP gets stuck behind a GTE and loses many seconds. Immersion killer. As far as AI mistakes, try lowering AI mistakes to "0" in the json file.

    AI mistakes is 0. I don't know if it's related to the talent files, AI logic in the code or something else. Doesn't help you get NOTHING from the devs both here or Discord. I'm not at all surprised.

    This is interesting because I don't have this problem. But I edited the player.json so maybe I fixed something with that?
    These are my values I changed:
    "AI Aggression":0.5,
    "AI Brake_Grip Usage":0.9725,
    "AI Brake_Power Usage":0.95,
    "AI Calibrate Sample Size":10,
    "AI Corner_Grip Usage":0.95,
    "GPRIX BlueFlags":0,
    "AI Mistakes":0.8,

    Unfortunately I need to tell you the bad news, AI is not the Studio397 priority and even in priority areas we have a lot of bugs and problems.

    The resources and money are scarce, we can't expect much.

    At least we are lucky to have a strong community that is always helping for no money at all.

    So you've never had an issue with the S397 LMP2 losing it when overtaking a slower car on the corners? Have you actually watched the AI to see? It just ruins the immersion for me when driving round & seeing AI spinning out. This game's meant to be a Simulation. Yeah right. Shambles more like.

    I just tried it out at Spa for you with 39 AI cars (LMP2 + GTE) and they don't spin and the LMP2s overtake the GTEs usually pretty easily. Sometimes they stuck behind them for a while if there are a lot of cars in line or if there are multiple corners after each other.
    I watched my car (LMP2) after I gave the AI the control over my car (with keypress "I") how it behaves and neither do others spun or anything like that.
    My settings were 100% difficulty, 25% aggression and 5% limiter.
    Normally I don't race the Oreca, I usually mix other type of cars into multiclass races (for example Alpine + LMP3 :D ).

    Thanks for trying it out.

    Quick questions:-

    Was this using stock S397 LMP2 & GTE?
    Any talent files used?
    Was it the default player.json file?

    S397 GTE+Oreca, S397 Spa. I didn't do anything with talent files.
    The player.json was modified see above.
