I know Studio bases his mods on manufacturer user manuals. I can tell you these manuals usually show every possible setup available on the car, then it's the team itself who choose what makes or doesn't make sense

Yes engineers, no they don't know everything as you may expect.
Do you want an example? Peugeot 908 first prototype. They built the car, went at Paul Ricard to test expecting an aero balance of 50%, got an actual aero balance of 53% (or higher i don't remember), crashed, being forced to run at Le Mans with more front ride height to fix the problem messing up their ideal aero efficiency. Engineering is not a right science (this makes me laugh everytime but trust me it's true), so you are a good engineer if you leave yourself enough room for mistakes. Having more settings than needed is a perfect example of this approach

In a specific GTE car the front aerobalance changes from 48% to 68% when the rake changes 1 degree during braking.

Comparing to CFD of a generic F1 car:
    https://www.f1technical.net/features/23505
The aerobalance changes from 43,4% to 53,1% but with a rake delta of 2 degrees.

Is a GT car more aerosensitive than a F1 car?

Higher centre of gravity could justify it? (just speculating)

So what do you guys think is the lowest rear wing setting that the car can handle while still maintaining driveability?
I noticed that i can get away with wing 21 in spa while still being able to go trough eau rouge flat out, and without having too much power oversteer shooting out of the (double left @) pouhon.

From my observations tuning the M4 Class 1 mostly came down to rake and to a lesser extent how much steering lock "you" needed to be able to control the excessive front df so it wouldn't snap over steer. To make it work you had to raise the ride heights too so the suspension had a chance to work, but it didn't really matter what you set that to. Without doing weird setup tricks, 21 was around the best rear wing for general purpose. Then just play with rake.

When will we have Push-to-pass update on this car?
My point is, if the game now have this feature, why not to update this car and only include this feature in new content?

Push to pass in this car? Don't you have enough with the DRS?

If you can ignore the attitude, the Class 1 regulations were to include both P2P and DRS I believe. So in that sense it's a fair question. Just the way it's asked leaves a fair bit to be desired.

Push to pass was in real life in DTM in the Class 1 prototype era.

The AI won't know how to use the Push-to-Pass, so off-line players are better off without it... :-D

A bit late but I also tried the car. It's too fast for me. :D Too much downforce. As with the case with GT3 and GTE cars too, but that's just me, at least DTM doesn't (didn't) use ABS and TC (if I remember correctly) so there is some challenge I guess. :D Other than that it's awesome except for the engine sound.
    I don't know how this

became how this simulated car sounds. Sorry to say but it's awful.

I actually believe that the sound is pretty approximate to the real thing.
Maybe there is some tweaking on the new sound parameters for older content - Legacy - that you can do to improve the experience.

Maybe we don't listen to the same thing:

This is nothing like the onboard footage IRL. This is like some stupid vacuum cleaner + flying mosquito recorded and some barely hearable crackles added to that.
Now I'm not complaining because it's a free car. But it's from S397 so I would've expected better than this.

The RF2 BMW DTM car is based on a car that was never actually built, because the new DTM class 1 was scraped before it raced.

DTM changed to GT3 regulations in 2021, with completely different engines.

So the comparisons between those two vids aren't valid.

Here is a vid of the actual engine that was supposed to be used: the BMW P48 2.0L turbo.

It sounds exactly the same as the RF2 version, although the real one is using a slightly lower rev limit.

I think the rf2 version sounds very good, one of the best if not the best sounding official cars.

The video he posted is from 2020 year, actually more closer car to what we have in rf2 than 2019 video you posted.
i don't disagree with your views, i think sound of M4 class 1 is good enough (apart from sound bug).
But i don't understand what you meant by saying the comparison isn't valid.

Ahh ok my bad I thought he posted a 2021 spec 'gt3' car.

Well even so the in game car is still very close. Certainly not a problem car when it comes to sound.

If you want to complain about shitty sounds try all the Tatuus cars and the flipping radical Sr3 (jesus christ)

lol yea the radical especially bad, fortunately it is not one of my go to cars. i doubt the audio samples themselves will ever get re-recorded, so even with new sound engine , it will still sound bad.
