Hi all Ballarat Kart Club (Victoria, Australia) has a track extension project starting in late 2022 While I'm a programmer in my day job, I'm a complete beginner to 3d modelling, but was able to put together some engineer designs, lidar and imagery to make a very rough cut in Blender for illustration purposes last year. However I have not been able to go further and get the 3d model into rFactor 2 so that we can simulate top speeds/ gearing etc (Last time I hit issues with triangles vs quads from memory) I'm not interested in aesthetics, just something the committee can drive to confirm some little details before construction (Cambers, racing lines etc) I've reached the limit of what I can do myself, and I'm not quite sure if the way forward is to keep it in blender, or recreate it in something else for ease of import. If you have any experience/interest in this area, and would be interested in a small project, could you let me know? Thanks Paul Feely
You probably won't find anyone to help you, from my experience, people don't like working on other peoples projects, but we have a track making discord where you can get help if you're stuck on something. https://discord.gg/fDVrWgjS
Je... actually I made the Eastern Lions Kart Club (Also located in Victoria Australia) using photogrametry --> point cloud --> track model https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2753175504 Write me.
