Only a snippet....more work than expected Working on the track buildings.....may be a few days before the next update...
Love it Mike! Lovely Tribute. We will all be rightly calling it Sayuri's Orchard as we drive by each lap!
What is really cool is that in the 1985 video I have of the race, there is actually a cherry blossom orchard in that exact place. I only saw it the other day as I was hunting through the video for tree and house positions.
Mike what are the dimensions of the billboard? Once my exam is done on Sunday I'm going to try and Photoshop some kind of a billboard where it looks like an ad for the orchard, but of course with all the memorial content contained. Is that okay with you?
Slow progress. Doing section by section around the track, heading up Mountain Straight. Houses are done (24 of them scattered around the track) so building the trees around the houses and gardens etc. Heaps done...heaps to do.
Hey everyone. Back at things now...took a bit longer than expected to feel "normal" Here is a video to bring you all up to date.
Yes, not bad. Some days are still hard but more good one's than bad Also doing an update on Lakeside with the bridge and the Cafe.
I think those of us Yanks who live near the Rockies, Cascades, or Appalachian mtn ranges might quibble with the term Mt in front of Panorama, but our Friends in Texas, Iowa Oklahoma etc probably cannot comprehend the sheer height of the Mountain. Thanks for the photos. I wonder what kind of tire they had on that car???
Great work! Will this track be able to be converted to Assetto Corsa as there are Grp A and C mods and it would be fantastic to race them on this track.
Yes for sure. At this stage I am finishing off Lakeside and Queensland Raceway and then Bathurst will be my last track.
It will be a while. Lakeside should be done by this weekend all going well. Then Queensland Raceway I have to finish the outer terrain which is basically tree placements, so that may be quite quick. I aim to start back on Bathurst by October and it will be finished when it is finished.....so Christmas maybe.
What a great Christmas present a quality historical Bathurst would be…. No pressure Mike love your work
So......now that the major stuff is done on Lakeside and QR, I will be working on Bathurst as much as I can to at least get a version up and running. No firm date yet..... I really need help with the AIW however. I can get the cars to lap and go though the pits, but I need them to start behind and drive around to pit lane as in real life. Other tracks do this sort of thing like NOLA Motorsports Park. I just do not know how to link the paths I guess.
Recording a path as first extension of pitlane and connecting this (select one waypoint of pitlane and one of the extension and then join as branch) to pitlane should work
