Doesn't this work for you? https://forum.studio-397.com/index....to-use-broadcast-overlays.68592/#post-1055525
I didn’t try to be honest, I didn’t want to use a third party (obs). @Woodee said it could be done without using obs which sounds more appealing but I haven’t found a way and keen to know how he managed it.
Hi I can't get this to work. When driving is not showing any overlay. I remember track map plugin was working when pressing alt and space but is not the case here. On panel control only names lap times showing but not in game while driving. Anything else I need to install?
No.... that is by design. It's meant for external broadcast, not for when driving anyway. If you want it for showing on stream... use OBS browser source to put over your gameplay.
i am trying to get replays to work but and can click on the mark replay event but when clicking on replay eevent 1 for example nothing happens other than it shows the replay transition but still only shows the live feed.
Hi, i`m trying to get working this setup: PC1 = Game PC with rF2 running (Singleplayer) PC2 = Broadcast PC to show the streamed race and the broadcast overlay What i got working so far, is to load the broadcast overlay with http://<ip pc1>:5397/overlays/controlpanel.html but i cant get working to show the stream on PC2. OBS is installed, added source (browser) tried but no success. Anyone around who could give me a helping hand?
You need a rF2 runing in the PC2 to stream the race. And then you don't need to redirect the overlay to the PC1.
You can broadcast rF2 from your PC, but if you don't want to broadcast your onboard, you'll need to execute rF2 in another pc, buying it and all the content.
Well, i thought that job would be done by OBS, not? For what reason i need to add a new source (browser) within OBS? Isnt that to stream the game play to the local network? I must admit i`m completly confused now...
The overlay isn't the game itself. The overlay are the data showed on the game. You can control the data showed in the overlay with the same pc that you use to race or with another pc. This makes sense when is used by a broadcasting team
Hi there! @lagg you seems to be pretty aware about how the broadcast overlay works so i give it a try. Do you know what is exactly the B-roll option and how does it works ? I understood more or less that it should allow us to display a video whenever we click on the button (if the video is in the proper directory and the config.json file setup accordingly of course). But it seems not working.
Hi. I haven't tested but the documentation says this "In the broll section you can define a background video that will loop in the background. This is great to show something behind the intro slides or on its own when rFactor 2 is in a loading screen. You can toggle the b-roll manually and also have it toggle automatically when enabling specific elements. The video you define here goes in the "videos" folder." https://docs.studio-397.com/users-guide/broadcast-overlays
You're right, I've also read this documentation but unfortunately it doesn't behaves the way it should be... Or I missed something maybe but I don't know what it could be
I also have tried to get the Broll working with no luck in fact i cant get any videos to work . I can add our custom banners & such but it seems anything to do with videos simply doesn’t work! Shame as the way it reads it sounds fantastic!! I wish one of the devs could chime in on this!
