I also like the old Layout, with the 2 Chicanes after the Start/Finish Line, much more than the current one.
Hopefully there is a Chance to get that too.

    What about Daytona?

Okay, all kidding aside - Monza is a great track. Used to be my favorite track, but I still feel very good about it.

I think such a layout should be possible by just removing a few cones.

I don't know if it's just me, but your screenshot above isn't showing. I know the double chicane you're talking about though.

If it again disappears i will upload a Picture of the Layout instead of linking one. ;)

Didn't think it would be this track, for some reason... maybe because in the 'hardcore' sim community it's not a very popular track. Really big love/hate relationship; 70% hate it, the other don't care or love it... and yes I pulled those numbers out of my A.

But when you consider the view of the more 'casual' player, mainstream racing fan... that certainly one of the most iconic track, that's for sure... and quite in line with the choice of track made by S397 so far.

Hopefully we can somewhere else than Europe for the next one.

    I hate that track too!
There is simply not a single easy passage in this track.
But seen the other way around, a tough but also "motivating" challenge.
I am very excited about it.
and if S397 is the absolute top champion in a category, then Track Team! Keep it up guys!

    Spa as an example.
    I never liked that track.
    But absolutely awesome in rF2!

How would you laser-scan an old layout? I never liked any of the chicanes, they are just there due to necessity rather than original design. The latest one is too narrow and slow and the one you refer to was very bad for overtaking. The fun starts in the second half of the circuit where you have to balance the car through corners with low downforce.

Most of the previous few layouts are still there, available for scanning. Like Turn1, just change the .scn(or whatever the file is in rF2) file to move cones and barriers.

Laser-Scanned isn't important for me, on a Track that can not be scanned anymore.
And in this Case, i'm pretty sure that the S397 Track Staff is able to replace the single Chicane with the old 2 Chicanes in a Way that Nobody will complain about it.
And by the Way, i doubt that anyone can tell whether a Track is made from Laser Scan Data or not, when a Track is well modeled. (My personal Opinion!)
    ... and i forgot... i like the 2 old Chicanes. :)

Yes, but you don't really want to drive on a track that is one part laser scanned and another part not. When you drive on an entirely laser scanned or not laser scanned track the experience is consistent. With laser scans you get finer bumps that I imagine would be very difficult to "fake". Just imagine if S397 had made Sebring as it is laser scanned, but decided to make one corner with the previous technique they used to build NOLA, I'd imagine everyone would notice the difference. This is just a big no-go from track design point of view.

Yes, and I explained to you why it's a very bad idea to create a track that is part laser scan and part not, this is from someone with experience of modding tracks. There are no tracks that are done like this, in any game I am aware of. You are entitled to your opinion.

    Thank you. :D
As said, my general Opinion about "Laser-Scanned" Tracks is, that it is more a Placebo than anything else.
Alone the Fact that all Scan Data gets transformed into Rectangles, makes it unrealistic already.
And as far as i know, also the Resolution gets resized a lot, to make it playable in a Computer Game.

Well, I'm not saying build the Brianza banking, just include the surface areas that the old chicanes were located and all that, you would think, would be within the area scanned for the modern track. It's not like they wandered off into the forest and then made a sharp turn back. Just, and here I'm assuming like a rank amateur, that the paint on top and the various AIW, TRK files would be all that changes.
