Nice and a very uniqe track.Someday you will learn to race your own track,Mike! Do we get some kangaroos @ trackside?
Not sure what you exactly mean by that? Do you mean the crash and the slide?? ... Yes there will be roos.
Yes Mike, i meant the crash, just a little tease... Also the video from Bathurst 1967 is very interesting.I posted it on the AMS2 forum and gave the credits to you!
Working on Bathurst and renaming heaps of images etc due to the latest updates. So, exporting bits to make sure they work and the track loads. Pain in the A. Using 1984 aerial images to try and get the surrounding area looking as it did in the 1980s. Getting the haze looking OK but not blue enough. Not sure how to change that. Added the gravel traps as well. They look great. Next updates will be adding objects and trying to get the houses etc looking correct. Then adding trees which will take weeks. Hoping for some sort of release about June/July
Good progress. All the walls, fences and armco are back and exported and loading correctly. Started to add and modify the buildings around the track. The first are the 3 houses on Conrod, the 3rd is opposite the Drive In. It was demolished to make way for the track upgrades in 1986 onward. No idea what it looks like, just brief glimpses on the telecast. House and garage is all I can do lol. I am thinking of starting the Drive In Theater next. I have zero images, only that on the telecast. Should be fun
More progress. Added new houses going up the mountain and tried to modify them to look like they did in the 1980s. Other houses and sheds added top of Conrod. Hard to get right but they will be hidden by trees anyway. Made a scratch built drive in screen and looks pretty good. Drive in ticket building and projector building are from another older version from another platform, but I can use those as templates and add details. Next is to make the parking area and access roads to the drive in, add proper fences around it and add movie posters from movies from 1985.
Just a few updates.... Started planting trees around the Drive In. Lots to do, plus the 80s posters. Some early comparisons down Conrod.
Back to the Future was big in 1985, perhaps sneak a still shot of Michael J. Fox on the big screen?????
Mike a guy in RD (Fred Basset) has worked on the Billboards of Bathurst James Hardie 1000, maybe it can be a help or collaborate https://www.racedepartment.com/downloads/bathurst-james-hardie-1000-billboards.16341/
I appreciate that...but I have finished the 1985 Bathurst sponsors (well 98%) These are all correct for the day. This is a small sample....
You are taking me back Mike.... 1985 was my first bathurst trip nothing beats camping on top of the mountain back in those days it was pretty wild...
Sorting the trees and orchards. There are 81 individual tree textures with gums, natives, introduced etc etc. Hope to represent a close as possible to the 1985 track, as it has changed a lot since then. Found a very quick way to get the objects to surface. I use Detach Polys script, select all the separated tree polys, then use Move To Surface, and boom...done in seconds. Pine trees almost done and Sayuri's memorial cherry blossom orchard is almost done. Next update will be Tuesday and significant I hope.
