Because of work I wasn´t able to drive for 2 month, but today I tested the new builds and wondered, why the rain- graphics on the new PBR-shader tracks look bad again. No puddles, no reflection, only grey asphalt and the old look again. Full of water but I can´t see it, when looking on the track surface. Portland with rain looked so nice a few builds before. Where has it gone?
hmm I just tried Portland with full rain settings, took couple of minutes but it started forming puddles on which I could see reflections, was actually quite nice.
what in God's name is embarrassing about that? ACC is a different engine. Rfactor2 looks good even in the rain despite its many years of existence. Here apples are compared to pears ... that's really hollow. Such comments are embarrassing
@Terence I'd suggest clearing your shaders in case something isn't right there. The effects you're talking about certainly aren't removed.
Not convinced the current build is working. I only noticed this recently in a league race where it rained and not been in rain for a long time. Had road reflections settings on high and all I can see reflecting are puddles nothing else. Track was over 70% saturated with rain but aside from puddles the reflections were not visible looks like a dry track but with smoke effects from the cars the only way you can tell. Then tried some testing with an AI race later on, cleared CBash and Shaders on two different systems both Nvidia and AMD latest drivers, one a fresh RF2 install max settings and it just doesn't work. Can someone please check the current build to confirm its working or not? Its now driving me mad. Was using current content with PBR shaders. Tested on Silverstone, Lemans and Nurburgring GP track.
Dont take that too literally - they said the same back in November about this bug. "Known issue - will be fixed in next release" https://forum.studio-397.com/index....wing-the-ui-border-ingame.67845/#post-1047255
Its ok I know the drill with expectations, its more my peace of mind knowing the problem is not at my end. Rain is currently broken, like many other aspects of the sim. Rejoining server issues are far more pressing to fix right now than rain effects. But you know it would be nice if it worked soon. It does completely break the immersion when it's raining and the track looks dry.
