I also frequently make a complete fresh devmode install. Rename the whole ModDev Folder and make a steam file verification and you get a new one.
Please extract the zip as said, that the gen file entries match the folder structure. As you have said, you can adjust that by moving the seat position and it should be stored for that car then. Or doesn't that work?
When i sit in the polo, it looks like in a real car for me, because i see what i also see when i sit in my own car. Such things really depend on each ones preferences and also how big a person is. You know, a lot of old people are so small, that they have problems to see the street at all.: D And i'm pretty sure that, if we change it as you want to have it, 5 minutes later comes the next and want it to be a bit higher again. One possibility could be to offer it as an update, that can be selected in the menu, would that be ok?
Agree. As i said before it is a matter of preference. It was just my thought, nothing more (cause i have raced with a real racing car and in those cars drivers tend to seat low because of the bucket seat which is "sealed" in a very low position , so i am used to it..) Is this even possible? You mean having two "seat" positions through tuning menu?
Yes, that should work. When you are in game, move the seat to your preferred position(s) and send me the values of the height and longitudinal movement. Did you download and extract my devmode version, that you can try it out?
Nope, i use the single player mode, not the dev mod. But, i guess, it is the same These are my correct seat values within the game: And this is how it looks:
I asked for the devmode version, because it is much quicker to test it there. You have to wait for the new build, because that position is inside of the driver now.
I think it is only possible to create an update for the height and forward/backward position, because these entries are in the HDV file and can be overwritten by an upgrade. The seat pitch value is not there as it seems.
Do not bother with this, it s ok. As long as seat up / down works, it is a minor issue (compared to others). Besides, each player will adjust the seat only once. @Alex V. will you put this mod in steam workshop as well (in its “final” release)? It s the best solution for the update procedure This car deserves ppl’s attention imho!
@Haris1977 Yeah once it's final I'll have a Steam version and a direct download as well from my website. (a bit of promotion doesn't do any harm). @Bernd Did you use 3dSimed to separate the windows? Also, body shader seems nicer than before! Hoping to get the new dashboard ingame today.
I separated it in 3DSMax and the body shader is the one with rain + damage now. But for the damage, it must have some other textures normally, to show a damage. But because i had seen that there is an IBL test body, i thought that it will be changed anyway.
@Alex V. you should “reserve” the 1st post (of page 1) with the mod’s upload link (latest one). So if smth new comes out, y just update first post (along with the changelog)
I think that you have to use the new IBL shader with remade and proper textures now, to get it looking good. The good thing is, that you can set the shader in the web browser material editor, to see live how it looks and changes. And then store the settings in a json file. Because of that, i did add the entry MaterialPath=.... into the gen file. The "bad" thing is, that you have to get familiar with the new shaders.
