not worked for me. Overnight, without making any changes, it gives horrible jerks that make the game impossible. I have rolled back to version 1118 and it improves a bit, but it is still jerking. From fps it goes very well.
I have 16gb of Ram at 3.6hz and I have put maximum virtual memory 32768.

Have only just found out by having a quick look in here that we are now on 1120, had no idea, so no release notes? Has anything been done about the massive FPS drrop with rain? I see from here apparently ambient sounds are back.

Why would you think rain was suddenly a priority?

I hope that they strongly improve VR performance + rain perf + 24H cycle perf +AI perf (CPU + GPU + VRAM) + overall graphics engine.

    (soon)

well, i'm sorry you still didn't find a way around it.

after everything i tried with no luck, i decided to do one final test... i reinstalled windows and now i have only steam and rfactor on it.

the freezes and stuttering are gone.

no settings changed in .ini files, nothing.

You may have had windows power settings set to conserve energy. In that case, windows would throttle back the cpu to reduce it's power consumption. Re-installing windows may have reset the power plan settings to basic. For rF2, I use the highest power plan settings: Ultimate.
And/or, you may have had a very cluttered windows with lots of old programs using memory and cpu cycles. Way back in the days of Win95, we wiped the HD and re-installed windows about every 6 months. That issue seemed to fade away. I wonder if it is something we should get in the habit of doing?

What happened to the rain graphics, puddle maps? That was looking better before.

I also think that these reflections look very unrealistic. It's no longer nice.
However, it also depends on the view and the light ... some of it looks good too ... in any case it has changed very drastically.
I noticed that depending on the incidence of light, the water sometimes looks quite good and sometimes very unrealistic.
Maybe it's just too much reflection.

i'm getting some small hickups (freezes) in VR after this last update (1120).

they happen every few minutes in random places.

didn't change anything except enabling the telemetry plugin (DAMPlugin), which makes no difference enabled/disabled.

    :D

The third post there does at least offer an official statement of sorts.
