Just when the server is going it doesn't seem to matter it can and does crash if we are not racing but also when we are racing.
Basically finished the Kart Center. I could do more but where do you stop? It will do. Next is doing all the blue rubbish bins and getting them to sit correctly on the ground.
Released; ORAN PARK LIDAR V 0.429 * Updated to correct curbs colours * Updated rubbish bins (lol. Does anyone remember the first Lakeside bins? 40,000 polys each!) * Added many new building to the Kart Center. Not much else to do there except fine tune some things * Adjusted and added new 3D fencing. * Fixed gaps in track mesh * Corrected Lat and Long settings. * Removed unwanted dds files and gmt files. Next Version: * Smooth and finish off track edge lines * Add more trees and remove unwanted shadows and marks on spec maps * Update area around the old Grand stand.
Hey everyone. I am going through all the textures that are T1 (umm....like 90% of them are) and correcting the shaders etc. I will release an update sometime this week. It should look a lot better. After that I will give Oran Park a rest for a while and get back to some much needed work on Lakeside.
Hey Mike, thx again for this lovely track. Are you using the new shaders S397 use in their Lemans track? Like the selfshading trees and stuff?
Ummmm...........I don't know about the new shaders S397 are not that good at helping with documentation nor examples on how to track build.....they never have even from RF1 days. If you have any pointer that would be great.
The new track shaders guide for mod authors expected to come after mid-June. Also recall (February roadmap) that the Portland track will be the shaders sample for mod authors to look over. From the notes for build 1118: Perhaps the shaders guide will come in handy for completing Oran Park.
Another thing you may want to consider Mike, is puddle mapping...some info on how is here => https://docs.studio-397.com/develop...s-on-realroad-and-realkerb-shaders-for-tracks
Hey everyone. Just an update on the updates. We got more news, re. my bride and the cancer diagnosis. So, the next few weeks will be filled with more radiation treatments and chemo etc. So again there will be a lull. I really enjoy doing the work as it keeps my mind busy. I will post an update tonight for Oran Park and then there will be a break for a while. Thank you for your support over this time. Really appreciate it
If this work helps you through this trying time, then keep at it. But don't for a moment think we 'need' this more than your wife's health. take care, be proud of your work. We will pray as we may for her health.
Hoping for the best for her and you. Take care. Your track work is appreciated. You're a real stickler for the details. It's going to be quite impressive, worth driving around off track just for the sight-seeing.
