Hi guys! I recently bought an RTX 2060. I have a 75hz monitor. The problem is simple. I want to use vsync. BUT my system can't keep up the 75 fps in this game, even without vsync, like in this video: (watch from 32 seconds from onboard cam) But the CPU and GPU usage is far from full utilization. Any advice about this? - Fresh install of windows 10 - All drivers are updated. - Power management options set to full everywhere - I checked with the new ui, the same Config: cpu: AMD Ryzen 5 1600 ram: 16GB DDR4 (dual channel running on 3000 mhz) gpu: GeForce RTX™ 2060 WINDFORCE OC 6G (rev. 2.0) mobo: ASRock AB305 Pro4 ssd: Samsung EVO 860 250GB (the game on this) thanks, Peter
Maybe Ryzen 5 1600 is too weak for a RTX2060. But in bottleneck calculators this was a good pair, and in videos too, like this video:
Do remember though, that simulators are more CPU intensive though. It's also the per core usage, rather than overall
It can use a bit more, if you check with a tool like Process Explorer you can see rF2 does run around eight threads, but only three or so are significant. If you have low GPU usage, double check to make sure you don't have any of the sync options enabled from Nvidia or in-game, some of them behave strangely. The CPU usage graphs are a bit harder to interpret and overall CPU usage might not mean much, because if you run, say, a 12 core CPU, then rF2 will probably have CPU usage in single digits and everything is still normal.
Of course no sync is enabled. But I realased that I have the same issue in every game. For example Wot () F1 2015 (). Here is an another benchmark of rFactor 2 showing all the cores: This could be a CPU bottleneck? But in WoT there is only a 30-40% cpu usage, and sometimes GPU utilization reach up to 94-95%, which is close to normal.
Hm, do you have GPU plugged into PCI-E x16 slot? You can check PCI-E status with a tool called GPU-Z or by looking at your motherboard manual. Just checking out the most obvious solutions first.
I don't want to OC anything, because my RTX2060 from Gigabyte is running on 79 C already. I don't want to generate more heat inside my computer case. But of course OC can help a bit, but not too much, because I tried it on 3,8 ghz and I got only 4-5 fps more.
CPU shouldn't really be an issue. I think the post is less about a CPU comparison and more that a similar level of hardware is running fine - suggesting something in your system or config isn't working right.
What do you think about that? CPU bottleneck? CPU9 usage is a bit high :/ (GPU usage is the second one on the first row) I use adaptive vsync in NVCP (75hz monitor).
It's really strange. If you could test 3 things: 1. Any v-sync to OFF. 2. Any frame-limiter to OFF. 3. Run rF2 without any AI. Single-player, your car only. Recheck the GPU load. It surely should be maxed out (99%).
Looks normal to me. rF2 uses heavily around 2-3 threads, less heavily another five or so, so you'll always see higher loads on certain CPU cores. You can check out the video below, which compares a Ryzen 2600 and 3600 in sim games. Almost all sims become CPU limited at 1080p with a decent GPU, which is why performance improved when he moved to a 3600.
