When I play, it very often happens that my game crashes while the game sound is still running and without error message. The worst part is that I have to restart my computer all the time because of that
This sort of thing is likely related to your hardware, windows, or drivers. Check your windows error log for clues, but you'll need to do some stress testing (temperatures, memory stability), check for driver updates, etc. What sort of system do you have?
sound still running indicates a possible video card crash. DX11 may be stressing your card. What are your system specs?
https://ibb.co/5GH9Q5X https://ibb.co/s5pQFL4 And I suffer that every time I go to the Berlin ePrix City mod created by Errol Prefet. I haven't tried on my other circuits but I think it has the same effect it only crashes if it’s me driving unlike the AI that doesn’t crash the game if it drives for me
@Aymeric Your system looks capable, but that doesn't mean something isn't going wrong (hardware or software). Does your windows error log show anything at the time of the crashes? Do you have any hardware monitoring software you can check the logs of? You want to make sure temperatures look ok when under load. I would also want to do a memory diagnostic, windows has one built into it or you can use something like memtest86. What wheel do you use?
If my game crashes without an error message, the Windows error log cannot display the problem I experienced. Actually my game freezes but the sound keeps spinning, so it can't really be considered a game crash for Windows And the steering wheel I use is Thrustmaster T300RS
If your GPU driver crashes and freezes up the game with the sound still running, windows will tend to catch and log the driver crash. It's worth checking anyway. It's not about what the game reports, I'll grant you that.
Maybe it can come from this mod but it would be surprising because look at the evaluation of the mod he had. And already the game does not crash if the AI controls my car on this circuit
Some more informations would help. Which car exactly do you use? Does it happens also with the same car on another track or a car from a different mod/dlc/S397 free content on the same track? Just to know if we can reproduce it and if yes, if it's the car or track, that has to be looked at.
- Formula E 2018 DS Virgin DSV - I haven't tried other cars but all I know is all Errol Prefet tracks mods that suffer game crashes https://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198241155516/myworkshopfiles/?appid=365960
I have tried it out and didn't have a problem. Do you use this versions? Formula E 2018 2.03 Berlin City 2.0 What you can try out is, before you start the game, to delete the whole content of the folders ..\Steam\steamapps\common\rFactor 2\UserData\Log\CBash ..\Steam\steamapps\common\rFactor 2\UserData\Log\Shaders Note: after that, it needs more time to load a track the first time, because these files get written again. If that don't helps, load up a trace file from when the game crashes here. How to create a trace file: https://forum.studio-397.com/index.php?threads/how-to-create-a-trace-file.62304/
sorry but the mod Berlin eprix city does not display the current version. I use the official DLC Formula E 2018. for the trace file, I would try later ok?
Later is OK of course. The version of the track is displayed in the menu after the track name (old UI).
But if it would be a serious problem with the errol prefet tracks, more people would have reported problems with it already. Which plugins do you have installed? And what happens when you drive on S397 circuits like the new zandvoort 2020, sebring or the nordschleife?
