i agree, a improved damage system with realistic effects would be huge for rf2 setting it apart from the competition in the realism department.

Low damage setting, No rain, Easy gripy cars, flat tracks, are all similar stuff many league admins chose (or forced) to run, due to lack of "hardcore" players, especially when other popular sims are more friendly and attractive to new players. Running any opposite race setting or combos usually end up with less than ten racers. RF2 is just too "hardcore".

On the other hand, there are still some mods did very well with damage modelling, consider the limitation of RF2. Those are the little things make me smile.

I really like how damage is implemented with URD T5.

    I agree.

I don't know if it still works but to have a more realistic and higher damage intensity offline, I edited the player.json to get 200%.

I don't remember which lines, but it's simple.

I've been debating whether to comment on this, as I don't want to single out any mods. But in the context of utilising game features it's important the restrictions or limitations for modders aren't misrepresented. I think you'll find the angled wheel there isn't related to damage, but unusual suspension geometry that can lead to things pointing the wrong way following large impulses (collisions, kerb strikes, etc). This may sound a lot like damage (an impact causes a problem), but is actually an indication the suspension geometry isn't totally realistic - and that affects handling.

The clue is that you can get similar results with damage disabled.

Porsche GT3 cup is very good! The default setup is deliberately unstable but once changed (if you’re not into that) it can be much easier to drive, I can give you a setup to try. The GT3 cars are all great! Le Mans is Awsome but very FPS heavy, mind you with the right settings I can run it happily on an old GTX750ti 2g card

all my friends are on iracing or ACC, impossible to make them stay on rf2, but their reasons are valid unfortunately...

-online dead (It's impossible to know the cars on the server before you get inside.)
-update bug and new content really too slow to come
-no consistency with cars (Unfinished series, like F-E, F1 75 etc )
-not enough official tracks on the laserscan or not
-cars & track release unfinished (it takes months and months to get something correct.)
    -no offline championship
    -unsatisfactory sounds in general
-very disparate content on the visual and the physics

I don't think IU was a priority for me, it's good but I think it's 4 years of work for not much...
I'm playing less and less and I don't believe less and less too...I've been a great defender of rf2 since beta but now...

    I agree with sebastien

Especially for point 1 it would be a 10 minutes fix but in 7 years no one improvement
-online dead (It's impossible to know the cars on the server before you get inside.

And in the new ui they didn't fix this!!!:eek::eek:

It's sad because rf2 would have greater potential than all other sims
... But I continue to hope for future improvements

Making a new UI was a brilliant idea. Spending 3-4 years to make it...Not so much.

You know, I'm also looking for a middle ground in SIM racing.I race in ACC,Iracing,PC2,RaceRoom.I only use iracing for NASCAR races, although I bought a Porsche and a number of tracks for the championship. But it didn't.The Porsche controls are just awful, no matter how you set them up.NASCAR Yes, the best in this simulator.ACC management is better, but generally not finalized online. In the 21st century, online is very important.Bots are already boring. That's why everyone loves Iracing.Despite the high price. But in terms of online racing, this is a top-quality product. All the other Sims in this plan are just a pathetic parody.I think to catch up and overtake iracing is not so difficult.Any of the SIM I listed can do this.Just too lazy.I bought Rfactor 2 only because I read the developers ' promises to make high-quality online competitions. In our modern world, this aspect is now the most important. And if there is a lot of paid content, but there is no subscription fee, as in iracing, then Rfactor will be the best SIM.I judge it by Porsche, Nordschleife and physics. This SIM

I have no clue when it comes to setups. Could you possibly post a setup that makes the 911 Cup car easier to manage? That would be very much appreciated. Cheers.
