Very nice Redpapq. I like it.
I think the setup name should have more of a way to identify which car, track, class it is. When I see a 997test2.svm, I don't no anything about it. Which track? I know it's a Porsche, but nothing else. I download it, and all I see in my download is 997test2.svm. If I don't move it right away, I'll forget where it goes. lol
When I put it in the setup folder, and I see a list of setups, I only know it's a Porsche 997 setup. Qualify, Race, Test is unknown. Even expected laptime, speed is unknown.
People would need to save the svm with an appropriate name, so others will know what it is, beside just being a setup.

    Thank you.
Maybe, when enough Interest for such a Sharing Site exists, it could be a good Way to offer it at one Site and not spreaded over the whole Web. :)

Here is my old Thread for the Setup Sharing Site.
Please, to not leading this Thread too much "Off Topic", post there, if you have Suggestions to improve it or to report Problems or other Things.

As said, the Sharing Site is still WIP.
Suggestions to improve it are always welcome, if doable and senseful.
Please post such Things in the Thread of the Sharing Site, to keep this Thread clean of Things that are related to the Sharing Site. ;)
But to answer to your Post.... If you download a Setup, you get the Info for which Track it is (i have to add the Possibility to state from which Mod a Car is, when the Setup gets uploaded) and when you download it, just rename it, to better know for what it is. ;)
The Uploader has the Possibilities to give some Informations for The Setup.
But that depends on the Uploader, if he uses it or not....

Now my question...well questions...do you guys want a dry set and a wet set...and with series that have multiple cars (f1, v8 super, gt etc) should I build individual sets or more of a straight baseline that works for all?

Maybe an individual baseline wet & dry to start with would be better. Then anyone who asks for different settings for their own needs could get some guidelines. Else you can end doing tons of them.
A question aside... I've read tire pressures actually don't make a difference in rF2, so lowering them to the minimum just improves performance without wear consequences. What do you think about that?
    Cheers.

"Straight baseline that works for all", at least in terms of GT3, only confuses my (lack of) understanding of setups further. How can one setup work for front, mid and rear engined cars? Please don't answer that question. I have downloaded material on setups and it hurts my brain.

I'm looking forward to trying anything that you make available.

    Thanks.

The only thing the lower pressure do is enduce more heat

Doesn't more heat mean more grip?

For a brief time yes. But overall not really. Lower pressure is good for q but not racing

So the tyres will last longer if pressures aren't lowered?

Yes they will. Also if you screw up on lower pressures and spin or whatever they will be a ton less forgiving

Thanks very much for clarifying that. I understand that most time is gained through skill, and that mine is limited (not assisted by legal blindness), but you improve if you're prepared to keep pounding out the laps, and I'm really interested to see if I can improve still more with a setup prepared by someone who knows what they're doing.

    Cheers.

i will also say this - there will be alot of tracks with a handful of setups because of being era correct. so say 60's hockenheim....will have late 60s f1 and a few sports car setups. same with other tracks. so its not like im taking EVERY CAR on EVERY TRACK
