Wow, smoothest and best quality/fps balance I´ve ever had. I put more visible AI but still amazing. Thanks a lot for sharing.

Where are the super sampling settings in Rfactor 2? Is it in Nvidea settings?

It depends on your VR helmet.

If you use SteamVR, you can set the supersampling per game or for all your games via SteamVR.

Personally I disable the SteamVR reprojection and I think that the Oculus driver uses its own ASW reprojection instead.

My 2080ti can handle 15 AI easily. Even at the start I have steady 80fps....
The problem is with some third party tracks where whatever I do it wont go over 40fps.

The FPS vary enormously in rF2 depending on the number of AI, visible AI, rain, time, tracks, cockpit details, exterior details of the cars, and many other factors.

To homogenize FPS in all circumstances, circumstances that you have little control over, lower the number of visible AI and excessive supersampling.

Otherwise you will have to lower the environment reflection and the shadows which destroy the performance more when there are AI, that is to say to homogenize the performance.

So you will have 80 FPS all the time with your powerful GPU.

In addition activating the reprojection destroys the performance of the CPU and creates many artifacts, forcing to put the function stabilize horizon, which is not realistic. But we want realism.

On SteamVR if you use it.

Or opencomposite if you have chosen to use opencomposite for Oculus.

Maybe there are other places if you have other helmets.

There is no SS setting on rF2.

Do I have a choice? It is what opens when I launch in VR for my Rift, but where do I set SS in there? All my other SIM launch in Oculus and have SS settings.

Why RF2 can’t open in Oculus for the Rift? Other SIM do.

    Hi,

Since Alt+Tab doesn't work under Fullscreen mode, I wrote a simple autohotkey script to Minimize rfactor2 while in fullscreen mode.

The script has been tested with & without VR, and all works perfectly, and can be used for any program/window.

To install autohotkey, download from official site here: https://www.autohotkey.com/download/ahk-install.exe

Once installed autohotkey, double click downloaded script fullscreen_game_minimize.ahk , then run rfactor2 and press alt+Q hotkey to Minimize rfactor2.

To Edit script/hotkey, open script file with Notepad and follow instruction carefully (full comments inside the script).
All script code are taken from AHK help document.

    Enjoy!

windows+D minimizes everything, and as soon as you click anything on taskbar, rFactor2 also gets restored, not convenient when trying to go back and forth between the programs.

This script only minimize one/current active program, nothing else is affected.

I have a problem when I run online races from my pc: if I open the rf2 launcher and then from this launch the dedi server I can access and drive with my oculus rift only once. if for some reason I have to exit rf2 and then try to return I no longer see rf2 in my oculus. therefore I am forced to close both rf2 through the task manager and the dedi server, and when there are people on my server it is an unpleasant thing. I believe that it happens however at the second start the oculus software tries to receive the video from the dedi server and not from rf2. does anyone have the same problem or know how to solve it?

Dropped here, coz OT on there, find at current steamvr had "auto" on resolution, which is kinda supersampling setting nowadays (?), so its on auto . When changed to custom there reads 1876x1876 150%, which looks familiar to that setting what I have long ago used.. on windows wmr settings I have 90hz set for headset, but on steamvr there reads 60hz and it isn't changeable. Weird

Edit: 1876x1876 per. Eye and 100%, maybe it means at 1.0 SS, this is "global setting", not specified different on rfactor...
Edit2: SS is 1.3, because per eye those are 1440x1440 and now its using them as 1876x1876.. Lol what a calculation.. :)

    Edit3:

    Lenovo Explorer
    AA5, no post effects.(launcher)
Circuit, player, opponent, texture = full
Texture filter x8 (leftover from some test, meaningfull? Normally 16)
    Special effects, shadows = high
    Shadow blur = fast
    Soft particles = high
Rain drops = medium (wtf, need to check higher, don't remeber to set this)
    Road reflection = off
    Enviroment reflection = high
    Visible vehicles = 40

    Edit4:
Looks like my headset was truly running 60hz, figured out why, displayport+active hdmi converter, but when using 90hz picture wasn't smooth at all, instead 60hz was rock solid and enjoyable to play, switched back to 60hz and changed raindrops to high, texture filter x16 goes just over edge on some harder places, so let that be on x8.
Solid 60hz is enough for me.
