    you guys using opencomposite?

    https://gitlab.com/znixian/OpenOVR/blob/master/README.md

I ran on 8600 with 1070 and Oculus CV1 - noticed a significant improvement with the opencomposite DLL.

I use openVR which also works with the new UI.

But steamVR does not put me a number of pixels corresponding to my supersampling/headset and I fear that steamVR is responsible for making reprojection in place of Oculus.

    What do you think ?

Do you tried these settings, exactly and does it works ?

I suggest you also to put environment reflection on LOW, not OFF.

Incredible, works for me since one month, sunrise/night/low sun, 61 AI, eventually rain, with pretty good graphics and 60% of the time 80 FPS (Rift S) and 40% ASW oculus.

Really happy about these settings, and only GTX 1080 overclocked + 5,2 Ghz OC i7 9700K + 4000 Mhz DDR4.

Time scale X10 AND AUTO FPS 120 (for 80 FPS) AND AI VISIBLE = 6 (yes, only, OK for me because offline simracer)

    EDIT
Shadows on HIGH, not MEDIUM, because on Nurburgring which I spend 90% of my time there are no shadows on the track at medium or low.

    Hi
Yes it really worked. Yesterday I even did a race on Verginia Raceway and I got 80fps even with 16 AI in front of me. Only for 2 second it was 45fps but after the first corner it was stable 78-80fps and I even increased the SS from 130% to 160% . thanks for your tips

I'm having a lot of issues with the VR. First, I can't access any other tab while in rF2 VR, this isn't an issue with any other VR title I've tried. I need to be able to adjust my wheel settings sometimes while playing the game and it's impossible to do this right now. What settings (if any) will allow me to alt-tab to another app?

I also seem to not be able to use the escape key while driving even though the control is set to take me back to the garage, the key doesn't do anything. I don't have this issue in non-VR rF2, but for some reason in VR it seems to not work, which is pretty much game breaking since I have to close the game by shutting off SteamVR manually every time I want to quit driving, which is ridiculous.

I'm using the HTC Vive if that helps.

    Hi,
I can never use alt/tab. It doesn't work for me either.
However, windows key and D will switch out to the desktop. Try that.

That did help momentarily but I figured out the root cause. It's because I had the resolution set to my current full resolution, meaning the window that stays up for rF2 while in VR was blocking everything else, I made the resolution lower and that's allowed me to click on other tabs to access them. That doesn't affect the actual VR resolution either, so that's working. The escape key is also now working as well, although I have no idea what was making it not work in the first place.

    NVIDIA CONTROL PANEL

    1/ Texture filtering - quality :

    High quality

    3/ Texture filtering - trilinear optimisation :

    off (deactivate)

4/ Texture filtering - Anisotropic sample optimisation :

    off (deactivate)

5/ Texture filtering - Negative LOD bias :

    Clamp

In rF2, anisotropic filtering = X16 (better to use rF2 setting for this).

Linked story, second paragraph: "VRSS works by using an existing NVIDIA technology, Variable Rate Shading (VRS), which is found on the company’s latest graphics cards using Turing architecture – products like the GeForce RTX 2070 or RTX 2080 for example."

@elbo What kind of performance gains are you experiencing on rF2 using it?
