Just to inform the community that Chris has stopped any involvement (at least for several months) into any development and maintenance of the tool and also into any other activity regarding rFactor2. I shall follow the maintenance of the "Online tools" depending of my skills (uhmmm) and, in case of need you can try to contact me by PM, but I cannot assure any advanced help.
sad news indeed, a great tool that i use often.I hope as mentioned above we can keep the existing version, alive.
No problem to keep it alive, as I said I'm following the maintenance and I'll continue to follow it...
As added to first post, Chris did some improvement to the tire size tools: Update May 2019: revised / harmonized / reworked tools for tire size needs Improved the accuracy and usability of the Tire Resize and Conversion Tools: 1 tool has been replaced where you could upload 1 TGM and that did use the SizeMultiplier of the TGM to modify the tire size... now the tool is doing the same thing, but you can upload and modify more TGM files at the same time. Another advantage is that you can quickly check the size of tires where the size is unknown. The 3 tools are selectable when you click the button "3 Tools to change tire sizes and/or to convert from rFactor 1", that leads you to a new web page and also gives some short info. We hope you will get some benefit and please, remember to use, in case of need, the email address shown into the main page of the web site!
Because of a request from a forum member that wanted to create an Update for an existing Mod, for private use, Chris has added a new tutorial that shows how that can be done. There are more ways to do it, but this is the easiest way in his opinion. The download link can be found on the bottom of the rFactor 2 Online Tools Website. And here is a direct link: How to create an Update of an existing Mod
first post has been updated with some news... January 8th 2020: new utility for Track modding, that helps to generate entries for rain reflections. In other words, it simply converts Instance= Entries into IncludeIns= Entries, that are used for the Rain Reflections entries in the SCN files of tracks. new utility for regenerating PLAYER/MULTIPLAYER.JSON file(s) TRANSFERRING your old customized data: the utility transfers the settings of the Player and Multiplayer JSON into a new generated one. Often we let the game generates new files, to be sure to be at the latest version... But it always was pesky to set everything as it was before! With this script you can upload your old and the new files and the settings will be compared so that different settings will be transferred from the old to the new file(s). get your public IP
Well, another tool by Chris! Here his explanation: I have uploaded the new Script now. I've had a Request where i was asked if it is possible to get a Tool, with that you can search for special Terms in a SCN File, list the Result alphabetically ordered and edit/change that Term. I have made such a Tool, that could be helpful to quickly check SCN File Entries, to see if they are tagged properly, for Example and to let the Script edit them, if necessary. There are 2 Ways to search and edit. 1. You can select Tag Entries from Dropdowns, that list the in the SCN used Tags. 2. You can enter own Terms I don't know if it is helpful for others, but for me it makes things easier, if i get Requests from People with Track Problems. Like the most of you already knows, you can write directly to Chris for improving or releasing new tools: chris_rf2onl@gmx.de
another great tool, this will be very useful to me, as it can be very time consuming to manually work your way through a large Scn. Thanks Chris, much appreciated.
seems the rf1 to rf2 chassis flex generator doesn't support solid rear axle cars, but auto generate chassis.ini worked, don't know why and know nothing about physics but trying convert some old rf1 cars to rf2. and will rf2 auto generated chassis.ini have at least a little chassis flex support? thx~
I would say, that the autogenerated chassis.ini files are 100% stiff. There are no front and rear bodies and the values for spring and damper rates are 1e999 (should be Nm, i guess), which i would call stiff. On the site of the tools is an email adress from chris, that you can use to maybe get more informations.
