    Some mods, I've noticed, have working mirrors on opponent cars. Is there a place to shut this off (either in game or an editable file), I'm pretty sure it is affecting FPS negatively.

    The only thing I could suggest is lowering opponent detail.
    Apart from that, you don't see their mirrors if you're ahead of them. ;)

    Maybe "you" can't see them but, like rain, if it's on it effects the FPS? :)

    I was going to tell elbo a plan that involved either a baseball bat, or the equivalent in Quebec, an ice hockey stick. That daydream faded quick.

    Now that I've put more than 2 seconds of thought into the problem I don't think opponent detail (textures) would make any difference.
    It might be a case of lowering the number visible opponents.

    Me!
    I see everyone's mirrors, sometimes quite a few times.

    thanks for the comments, I figured it was not possible to toggle as some mods have it on and some have it off so it looks dependant on the mod files themselves. @ADSTA, I tend to see everyone's mirrors too, so a race between you and me would probably look like;

    It's sadly something modders - and sometimes on rushed official content - oversee... It's a matter of having the mirror .gmt isolated and only called out when you're in the cockpit... If that's not done properly it'll always be visible and it will be an FPS hogger, sadly.
