Every once in a while I find that my installation has a bunch of new cars or tracks I never subscribed to. Is there content that gets auto-subscribed?

It has been a while since I did a clean install, but to my knowledge all the content in the Studio 397 Workshop collection and any paid DLC is by default auto subscribed and installed.

If you have been joining servers you would have downloaded very small "Mod" files that could have the names of track and or vehicles in their name.

Ah, I did a clean install on a different computer. I guess it re-subscribed me to all the Studio 397 content at that point.

S397 has released several FREE tracks and sets of cars, including the Tatuus, the Mclaren F1 cars, the Mclaren Shadow GT3s., Nissan GT R 500. So those will be automatically downloaded to you whether you want them or not. If we look at rF2 as a CDrom you purchased, S397 condsiders those cars are part of the core of the sim, as if they had shipped on the CDrom.
