That did help the handling some, but still doesn't provide any better feel from the tire. Thanks.

why doesn't studio 397 just give out the 3d body shell "nothing else" with 2d template of the models, then there's no need to change uv mapping. just paint it in 3d. No harm in this...

So I appear to be a bit confused by this new content update in particular the Nissan GT500 to which I am subscribed.. When I look in my game content I only see Version 1.96. When I look in template file I only see a file dated 2017. Do I have to unsubscribe and resubscribe to get the update?

no, unless you are seeing error messages in the launcher screen. I'll check what version I see and get back to you.
I've got v2.01 so try unsubscribing and re-subscribing.

I know I'm gonna botch the spelling of this, but there was an effect that was added back in rF1 days, the Hystoresis(sp?) effect I think. Where the tire's natural tendency is to track back to center. Perhaps that is what isn't working. With other cars, like the Norma, I get a resistance after small movements of the wheel as the tire attempts to to center itself via rotational inertia. This 'seems' to be what I'm missing from the Nissan.
Maybe this will show the gyro effect I'm attempting to explain. The spinning tire would take you sideways, but the contact patch resists this motion. Who knows, I could be 100% off base with this

Oh Hell no. I was shocked I was able to get the thing to move. I 'was' just gonna post the url to the page it came from. And yes, self aligning torque, that MAY be what is out of whack with that tire.(something is....)

Thanks davehenrie. Un/re-sub and cleaning house fixed it. Too many previous versions and associated mods probably caused the blockage. Cheers

The Honda engine is turbo the others are NA.
By "turbo model" they meant they added rF2 turbo feature to its engine

They might add similar cars to rF2 to make the competition system more interesting, and the GT500 would be updated with new tires then. Just a feeling. S397 doesn't do anything randomly. There is a reason behind the choice of car for that shader update, I'm almost sure... (How can anybody be almost sure? :-o)

Man I hope you are right. Makes sense to me, modernish GT500 cars would kind of be unique to rfactor2. They'd work well in GT500 only races or with the s397 GT3 packs.....
