The newly formed Pitstop Modding Team would like to introduce our first project for rFactor 2, The American Sportscar Championship 1999 mod! Our aim is to recreate this championship as accurately as possible, including all cars from the legendary to the downright obscure. Here is our first preview render showing off some of our W.I.P. models.

WIll you guys work together with apex? looks awesome but doesn't it sort of have a lot of crossover with their LM99 mod?

Looking forward to yours as well though.

We are not directly associated with Apex is any way, we're focusing on a different side of racing from that year and will include a lot more obscure and low budget cars from that year along with the major ones.

Lola B98/10 is the back one
BMW V12 98 is the front one

So is the APEX cars going to fill in the "more common" gaps? I'm just waiting for some decent Panoz WIPs :)

Anyway best of luck. Looking forward to it!

We're planning on eventually getting to every car that raced in the primary American series, so everyone's favorite front-engined V8 prototype is also on the cards!

This is the mod I was waiting for. This is the kind of content that can make a game great. The American resistance series were always my favorites. It will be a great mod. Thanks for doing this job, I'm willing to pay for it.
The Rolex Grand Am 2004 is a good option for future projects.
    Good luck!

Really fresh news for rfactor2. A good mod with prototypes from the late 90s, early 2000s ...

I wish you the best of luck

I hope you guys finish it as more US content is never a bad thing IMO. I've seen it too often though that a modding team annoucnes an awesome sounding project and then nothing comes of it.

That is sad. So many good mods get stuck behind a paywall. I understand that you want money for your work and personally i have no problem to pay for a mod. But the general acceptance of 3rd party mods is not that good and for league use i as admin always have to justify the usage of payware mods to the drivers. And when leagues use payware mods they have a ton of work to do to make sure every participant has leagally bought the mod.

My opinion is. When you love 3D modding and development of cars and want to make serious money out of it than you should do it as a daily job and get hired for doing this by some companies. I really can‘t believe that you will make nearly anything near 1000 Euro/Dollars or whatever by selling 3rd party mods.

Then, your best choice is to use free content.

This wasn‘t meant to be a rant against payware mod. Just something that modders should think about
